The Veterans Aid Welfare to Wellbeing© (W2WB) model was introduced by Dr Hugh Milroy in his 2009 contribution to the book Pathways to Human Development. His chapter of the same name chronicled the unique change process employed by the charity in its work with veterans in crisis.
In November 2011 Veterans Aid won an Institute for Turnaround Award, an accolade acknowledging the success of organisations that have moved from significant difficulty to turnaround and transformation.
In 2014 The Centre For Social Justice Report – Doing our Duty: Improving Transition for Military Leavers – said: “The model of ‘moving from welfare to wellbeing,’ as proposed by Hugh Milroy and Veterans Aid, is an important example of what can be achieved . . . The CSJ applauds this effective model and recommends its adoption for other charities engaged in all aspects of this often complicated transition experience. ”
The designation Welfare to Wellbeing© and logo (W2WB) belongs exclusively to the charity Veterans Aid.
