Job placement is a key element of VA’s unique Welfare to Wellbeing© model, a pathway that guides ex-servicemen and women out of crisis to a point where they can sustain rewarding, independent lives.
CEO of Veterans Aid Dr Hugh Milroy said, “Many organisations offer one-off ‘sticking-plaster solutions’ to individual problems, but at VA we are committed to creation of enduring solutions that restore self-respect and independence. I’m delighted – but not surprised – to learn how well our former clients are performing for GSS and very grateful to the company for helping us to invest in their futures.”
Gary Malloy – GSS Operations Director said, “Our decision to work with VA in offering careers to their veterans has seen us meaningfully engage with two to date, both of whom are earning huge amounts of plaudits from the clients whose contract they are deployed to support. Indeed, one was awarded GSS Superstar of the Month (i.e. employee of the month) recently.
“Both work to support VSG’s high profile retail security contracts at Selfridges and Sotheby’s in London and we are delighted to say that both have been praised by our client for their consistent levels of professionalism and diligence in fulfilling their duties.
“The work VA does for UK veterans is absolutely tangible and the passion the organisation has for supporting veterans is reciprocated by the deep levels of gratitude those veterans exhibit for the support they have received. We, in turn, would like to express our gratitude to the team at VA for introducing us to two individuals who have been an absolute pleasure to work with since day one of our engagement with them.”
“It is around nine months now since we were first introduced to the team at Veterans Aid by Bloomberg Philanthropy, through the work our MD Daniel Mailly was doing on the Goldman Sachs/Bloomberg 10,000 Small Business Programme. We have written before about the reasons we wanted to support VA’s work, but the figures just released about their work in 2016, re-enforce that decision for us.”
There are Infographics illustrating these figures on the Veterans Aid website at https://veterans-aid.net/the-facts/ under separate headings.
Daniel Mailly added, “We would also once again like to express our huge thanks to both Bloomberg Philanthropy and Goldman Sachs for their foresight in making the introduction that has made this partnership possible.”
