Just a week before Armed Forces Day 2013 CEO of Veterans Aid Dr Hugh Milroy attended a flag-raising ceremony at City Hall to show support for the military community.
Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, who spoke during the ceremony, emphasised the nation’s duty to recognise the contribution of Britain’s serving soldiers, sailors, airmen and veterans.

Two cadets raised the Armed Forces flag and musicians from the Royal Anglian Regiment accompanied the ceremony.
Dr Milroy said afterwards, “I applaud this level of commitment from the Mayor of London and indeed all of London. Our Armed Forces and the veterans’ community deserve acknowledgement for their contribution to the well-being of this country.”
A national event to celebrate and honour the Armed Forces community is due to take place on Saturday, 29th June 2013.
