Metropolitan Police and local homelessness charities, including Veterans Aid, hosted a Community Engagement Event on Westminster Cathedral Piazza on Wednesday, 18th January 2017.
The event was an opportunity to speak to professionals about what they are doing to support people away from rough sleeping and publicise some of the services available to men and women who are homeless or facing the prospect of homelessness.
Apart from two VA’s outreach workers, Debbie and Jon (picture), there were representatives from the Police, Westminster Council, St Mungo’s, The Connection at St Martin’s and The Passage alongside nurses from community outreach and drug services that operate in the borough.
VA’s Drop-in Centre is just yards away from the Cathedral at 40 Buckingham Palace Road and is open to ex-servicemen and women of all ages regardless of ethnicity, religion or length of service.
