Students at King’s College London’s Institute of Psychiatry learn about the work of Veterans Aid from CEO Dr Hugh Milroy.

At the invitation of programme leader Professor Edgar Jones VA has been contributing to the course, in the Department of War Studies, for the last three years, providing full and part-time MSc students of War & Psychiatry with an insight into the factual and fictional aspects of what it means to be ‘a veteran’ in 21st Century Britain.
The MSc War & Psychiatry course allows successful applicants to develop skills and knowledge about the way individuals respond to psychological trauma. Drawing on multidisciplinary expertise, students can compare the experiences of different nations to identify both theoretical and practical elements. The programme aims to provide a grounding for those interested in for careers in military psychiatry and related NGO, emergency and anti-terrorist services.
