Earlier this year, TVS Supply Chain Solutions exhibited at the Defence Vehicle Dynamics Exhibition at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedford. They encouraged stand visitors to enter a business card draw with the lucky winner asked to choose a military charity which could benefit from the new television. Douglas Clark, General Manager at Peleus Decisions Consultancy was the overall winner and asked for the prize to be donated to Veterans Aid.
The new television – a splendid 42″ Hitachi flatscreen – now takes pride of place in Richard Allgrove’s room, at New Belvedere House. The 28-year old who served in the Grenadier Guards came to Veterans Aid when he developed problems and has lived in the charity’s East London hostel since late June.
“It’s brilliant!” he declared after showing off his new set to fellow veterans Jason Sullivan and hostel Assistant Manager Dennis Murphy. The 55-room Veterans Aid hostel has a communal TV lounge where residents meet to socialise but each man has a room of his own, newly decorated and equipped when he moves in.
