Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day on BFBS Radio & BFBS Radio 2

To mark Remembrance Sunday, BFBS Radio’s Access All Areas show, from 10am (UK), will have live inserts from the wreath-laying ceremony at Blackpool’s Cenotaph.

Later that day, Patrick Eade presents Forces Life from 1pm, featuring a 30-minute Remembrance Day special. The packed programme includes interviews with members of 2nd Battalion, The Rifles, who reflect on their fallen comrades and the unit’s Roll of Honour.

Patrick speaks to two veteran nonagenarians, who both served as fighter pilots, and also talks with former Captain, Doug Beattie MC, (now FTRS) of the Royal Irish Regiment, about his tours in Afghanistan.

BFBS Radio 2’s Remembrance Sunday 2015 programme will relay live commentary of the annual ceremony at the Cenotaph in Whitehall from 10.30am (UK).

On Wednesday 11th November, BFBS Radio’s coverage continues with live interviews and music inserts from the Royal British Legion’s Silence in the Square event in London from 10 -11am (UK).

And throughout the week, reporters from across the BFBS Radio network will be recording thoughts on the November 11th commemorations, as they ask veterans, personnel and members of the armed forces community ‘What Does Remembrance Mean To You?’
