London to Mongolia in a retired taxi, a few nights in jail, glandular fever, some major mechanical glitches – and they’re still smiling! Is there no stopping these guys?
Perhaps its the euphoria of making it to Mongolia, keeping redoubtable London black cab Mildred on the road and being rejoined by companion Will, but Olly Cardozo is in great spirits. And at last – some pictures of the team who have been battling with climate, terrain, injury, exhaustion and visa dramas for the last few weeks.
Remember its not too late to support them via the Idiots Abroad JustGiving page.
A brief note from Olly:
“Just stopped for the night. 300km outside Moscow. Mildred is good. The roads are patchy. Had a bad time digging her out of deep mud at 1:30am, trying to cross a sodden river ford during a bit of a shortcut we tried to take.
We crossed the Urals as well, beautiful trees turning crimson and auburn. Also crossed back into Europe, 1st time in 6 weeks!! Good to be back. Drove past Kazan and Novgorod today. Nice but can’t wait for Moscow and St Petersburgh!
Planning on being in Moscow tomorrow afternoon. Will find a hostel/do washing/get internet and will send long email.”
