Less than six months ago it was almost unheard of for a female soldier to end up on the streets. Now Veterans Aid charity says it is getting one case a month.
Its chief Dr Hugh Milroy said: “Before we might get one woman soldier a year come forward. Now it is every four or five weeks. One soldier came to us for help recently carrying her baby.”
The Sunday Mirror is running a campaign for more help for war vets.
