On Thursday, 23rd May 2013 a cheque for £11,480 was presented to Veterans Aid by Carlton Club member and dedicated Veterans Aid supporter, Danny Buckley.
The money was raised at a fundraising dinner held at the club on the 20th February. Prizes, including memorable events and prestige items, were auctioned by an auctioneer from Christies.
A grand draw of raffle prizes on 26th March further boosted the amount raised for Veterans Aid.
CEO of the charity, Dr Hugh Milroy, said, “I am absolutely delighted that the Carlton Club, which is one of the most prestigious clubs in the country, decided to get behind the Veterans Aid.
This money will make a real difference to Veterans we’re dealing with on a daily basis.”
