Veterans Aid has been given 30 free tickets to a St George’s Day Concert at Cadogan Hall. They were presented to CEO Dr Hugh Milroy at The Guards Museum, by Director of Music Coldstream Guards Major Darren Wolfendale. (Pictured)
Dr Milroy said, “The tickets will go to ex-servicemen and women in crisis who have been helped back on their feet by Veteran Aid. This is the second act of kindness and support from the Coldstream Guards in as many days. We are still deeply moved by the gesture of Colour Sergeant Darren Hardy and his wife who donated more than £700 in lieu of wedding presents to Veterans Aid (see link HERE ). And now we have the invitation to this wonderful musical event to thank them for.”
The programme includes a world premiere (Peter Meechan’s St George’s Day) and old favourites (Henry Wood’s Fantasia on British Sea Songs and Edward Elgar ‘s Pomp & Circumstance March No. 1).
