1 December 2014

Tessy Luis CharlotteFormer VA volunteer Tessy de Luxembourg raised more than £1,500 for the  charity by taking part in  the world’s biggest obstacle race.

She was joined in the Luxembourg Strongman Challenge by her husband Luis and friend, Charlotte Aslaugberg.

Dr Hugh Milroy, CEO of Veterans Aid, said, ‘Tessy joined us in London for several months and became a much valued member of the team. Her dedication and hard work was absolutely amazing. I was delighted to hear about her participation in the Strongman run!”

The Strongman run began in 2007 with 1,600 participants. Seven years later, in 2014, around 30,000 people participated.

Tessy said , ‘Having worked for Veterans Aid I saw its hands-on approach. It is a place of hope that transforms people’s lives. I took on the Strongman challenge for the second year and I was happy for the proceeds to go towards the work of the charity.’
