‘RAG’ readers and club members are introduced to the work of Veterans Aid.
The Army & Navy Club, also known as The Rag is a Members Club originally founded for former and serving officers of the British and Commonwealth Armed Services, and their immediate relatives. Full membership is also open to all professional non-service men and women. It is a valued supporter of Veterans Aid.

The Club has been situated in St James’s since 1837 and on the present site since 1851. The picture on its website represents the Club in 1890, 70 years before its reconstruction. With the building becoming ever more uneconomical, it consequently went through a total re-build in 1962.
As a result, the Club today combines the ambience of tradition and modern facilities without pretentiousness. The Rag offers members, guests and event organisers the ultimate homely feel, with a friendly yet highly professional staff who ensure that every event runs with efficiency and style. It also acknowledges those members of the ‘military family’ who have fallen on hard times and the work done to help them by Veterans AId.
