Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Hillier Granted Honours on Queen’s Birthday List 2020

We are proud to announce that Veterans Aid Trustee, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Hillier, GCB, CBE, DFC, ADC, has been appointed as a Knight Grand Cross of The Most Honourable order of the Bath (GCB). He was granted this remarkable State Honour by Her Majesty the Queen in the 2020 Birthday Honours List.

Sir Stephen retired from the Royal Air Force in 2019 after 39 years of service, with his final three years as Chief of the Air Staff. A background as a Tornado pilot and flying instructor, he has flown and commanded throughout his career, including on numerous operational deployments. He has also significantly contributed to areas of joint planning, programming, and equipment acquisition within the Ministry of Defence.

CEO of Veterans, Wing Commander Dr Hugh Milroy, said:
