CEO of Veterans Aid Dr Hugh Milroy was presented with a cheque for £12,000 from BFBS today as part of its ‘Big Salute’ fundraiser.
The surprise hand-over was sprung during a visit to BFBS by the five ‘Big Salute’ beneficiaries: FAB, BLESMA, Combat Stress, Blind Veterans UK – and Veterans Aid.
Dr Milroy, pictured with Nicky Ness and Ernie Rowe, said afterwards “As ever, we are thrilled to be supported by BFBS whom we regard as part of the Service family we are a member of.
“The money raised is a bonus, but one that will immediately be translated into funding for courses, clothing, training and whatever else those seeking our help most need. Today was especially valuable because it offered an opportunity for us to meet some of the many other charities dedicated to supporting Veterans and their families – and learn about their work.”
