Veterans Aid Takes On The Royal Hospital Chelsea – At Bowls
It was medals all round at the Royal Chelsea Hospital when In-pensioners took on teams from Veterans Aid.
The challenge followed a recent visit to the RCH during which the veterans were given a guided tour and hosted at the pensioners’ club.
Chelsea pensioners routinely visit VA’s New Belvedere House which provides a temporary home for 57 former soldiers, sailors and airmen.
Both organisations benefit from the relationship which enables veterans of all ages and backgrounds to meet socially.
NBH manager Pat O’ Connor said “The guys had a great day out. Few of them had played bowls before but they learned quickly and gave the home team a good game.”
