Experts warn of increase in women soldiers facing homelessness By Rupert Hamer

Experts are warning of an alarming increase in the number of women soldiers who face homelessness.

Less than six months ago it was almost unheard of for a female soldier to end up on the streets. Now Veterans Aid charity says it is getting one case a month.

Its chief Dr Hugh Milroy said: "Before we might get one woman soldier a year come forward. Now it is every four or five weeks. One soldier came to us for help recently carrying her baby."

The Sunday Mirror is running a campaign for more help for war vets.
